LOCAL RAW MATERIALS CONTENT AWARD

What is it all about?

The Local Raw Materials Content Award, formerly known as "Merit Award", was instituted by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) in 1992.

The programme seeks to identify manufacturing industries, private companies, raw materials through Research and Development (R&D), investment and other activities. This includes innovation in the design and fabrication of machinery and equipment.

The Programme holds biennially during the "Techno-Exposition", a specialized exhibition organized by the Council.

Criteria for the Award

1. percentage of local raw materials utilized for manufacturing;

2. percentage of turn-over committed to Research and Development (R&D);

3. striking innovations/inventions which have strategic impact on the development and     utilization of local raw materials; and

4. identifiable and significant contributions to the development of local raw materials.

Benefit of the Award

The programme seeks to recognize outstanding contributions of public and private organizations, individuals as well as Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), towards the development and utilization of local raw materials.

Past winners of the Award

So far, 168 organizations and individuals have won the award. In 2006, the award was presented to 15 deserving companies and individuals out of 142 entries received.

Call for Entries
