The FCT, Abuja is accessible from all parts of the country by road. The city is also accessible by air through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport with international flights. Historically, the indigenes of the FCT are mainly subsistent farmers from Kwa language group. The group is predominantly found around the Niger-Benue confluence. The Kwa group includes Gbagyi, Bassa, Gade, Gwandara, Koro and Ganagara. They all have strong historical, linguistic and cultural affiliations with Kwa groups which dominate the present Middle Belt area of the country.
